Turn stock you already paid for into cash this month

Every offer here is inventory that has already landed, cleared and been paid for — by a member in your own market. Publish what you over-bought. Source what you under-bought. Move it in days instead of waiting 30–60 days on a container, and get the cash back into your business.

20–30%What slow stock costs you every yearInventory carrying cost runs 20–30% of stock value annually (APQC / NetSuite benchmarks). $10,000 of unsold goods quietly costs $2,000–$3,000 a year to sit on the shelf.
2–4×How often hard goods actually turnConsumables turn 10–14× a year; toys, leashes and crates only 2–4× (eTailPet benchmarks). Local Stock lets you lift turns on slow goods without buying more of them.

How Local Stock works
  1. Publish what is not sellingEvery slow-moving SKU is cash you cannot spend. List it with quantity, condition and your price — it appears on the map and in your country within minutes. You keep the cash, someone else gets the stock they need.
  2. Source what you are missingA customer asks for something you do not carry. Instead of a full carton from overseas, buy 40 units from a member two states away — in the quantity you actually need.
  3. Deal direct and keep the margin“I want this” emails both sides with a reference number. You agree pickup, delivery and payment directly — no forced platform checkout. Publishing runs on an active GPI plan for every listing type, and commission applies only when a deal actually settles through the platform: 6% on every settled deal.
Where Local Stock fits

Three ways to get stock — and what each one costs you

Best used forClearing overstock and filling gapsTesting a range without a containerPlanned seasonal buys you know will sell

Most members use all three: cross-border wholesale to test a range, containers for the lines they are confident about, and Local Stock to fix the two problems that actually hurt — dead cash on the shelf and a customer walking out empty-handed.

FAQ

Questions buyers and sellers ask

Who can publish Local Stock offers?

Publishing any listing type runs on an active Global Pet Index (GPI) Monthly ($59) or Annual ($590) plan — there is no free tier and no JustForPetStore subscription. Commission applies only when a deal settles through the platform: 6% on every settled deal. Any signed-in account can browse every offer.

Who can see buying requests (Wanted) and reply?

Any signed-in account can browse the board and post a buying request — asking costs nothing and is not behind a membership. Replying “I can supply” needs an approved supplier account, which is what keeps the board free of time-wasters. Live requests per account are capped at 5.

Do we have to complete the deal on JustForPetStore?

No. Local Stock exists so you can find each other fast. Once you are connected you are free to arrange payment and delivery directly — pickup in person, local delivery, or a courier. We never force platform checkout for Local Stock; if you do choose to settle through the platform you get payment protection and dispute handling, and that settlement carries the commission shown above.

What does “I want this” actually do?

It emails the seller instantly (and emails you a copy with a reference number). A supplier or our platform sales team follows up — nothing is charged and nothing is ordered automatically.

How accurate is the map?

Pins are placed at the city level from the location the seller entered (city, state, country). Exact warehouse addresses are never shown publicly — they are shared after you connect.

What condition is the stock in?

Every offer states the packaging condition (sealed original / opened but intact / damaged) and the effect on resale. Anything unclear? Ask via “I want this” before committing.

How long do offers stay online?

Sellers choose the window when publishing (up to 90 days). Expired offers disappear automatically, so the map and lists only show live stock.

I am a buyer outside the listed country — can I still buy?

Yes, if the seller offers courier or nationwide delivery. Check the delivery note on the card — e.g. mainland US offers exclude Alaska and offshore islands.

How does sharing stock actually improve my cash position?

In two directions. Selling: you convert stock you already paid for back into cash instead of waiting for it to sell through at retail. Buying: you purchase the 40 units you actually need instead of a full carton, so less cash leaves the business. The hidden win is carrying cost — every month a slow SKU sits still costs roughly 2% of its value.

I already buy wholesale. Why would I also use Local Stock?

They solve opposite problems. Wholesale gives you the lowest unit cost, but it ties cash up for weeks and only clears in carton quantities. Local Stock is for stock you already own that is not moving, and for gaps you need filled this week without committing to a full carton. Most members run both: wholesale to build the range, Local Stock to correct it.

Does JustForPetStore take a commission on Local Stock deals?

Yes — only when a deal actually settles through the platform, and never for browsing or replying. The rate is a flat 6% on every settled deal, for every account. You are still free to agree pickup, delivery and payment directly with the other party.

Buying for one store and only need single units? Cross-border dropship ships the same catalogue from our US warehouse with no minimum order — fulfilled one unit at a time instead of by the lot.
